Adventure and discovery was the enticement that drew Lee Elders to this wild lawless land; the supernatural world of the Shuara that live in a mystical realm of ayahuasca-induced visions where the ethereal world is encased within our third dimensional reality. Along the way he discovered his true self - his Kakarma. However incredible some of the incidents may seem this is a true story.

Default Happy birthday!

Happy birthday Shirley!

I hope you have a great day filled with all you wish! With people and animals you love by your side and with joy, inner peace and serenity!

Thank you for being you and showing your support by participating in LA gay festival. As a part of the gay and lesbian community in the world it means sooo incredibly much when a public person shows a non judgemental attitude.

Further, Your life seems extremly interesting, filled with things that my inner kid really adores judging from the books you have written. Thank you because in fact when i first saw the TV movie with Ambres and Peru I was incredibly fascinatied and it hit off my search within the realm of sprituality.

A little late but wellmeant ; GRATTIS! CONGRATULATIONS TO SHIRLEY!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

Shirley, like everyone else you've played a part in my spiritual journey, but two stories come to mind.

When "Out on a Limb" was on TV my father was glued to the story...afterwards he started telling me about his experiences during WWII...which he never spoke of before. He shared that he had a near death experience & how it changed his life. We were always very close...but after we shared our near death experiences the depth of our relationship brought us both to a level of love that there are no words to explain. THANK YOU!

The other experience was at your seminar. After a meditation on uniting our male & female energies I had an orgasm...which everyone thought was funny. BUT...to me it was a miracle. I had been paralysed for 9 years at the time & to feel what I felt blew me away. I realized at that point how powerful a tool the mind can be. You asked if you could do any thing for me & I said I needed a cigarette. After that the funny banter continued...but in my heart was the big shift on how thoughts create reality. THANKS AGAIN!

May you have many more & write many more books. May good health & laughter fill your days.

Love...Anita

Default Happy Birthday

I always knew there was more...but what was it, where was it, how do I find it. And then it found me.

Synchronicity...1980's
Two weeks after starting a new job my boss lent me the book "Dancing in the light" I couldn't get enough. How great that this actress Shirley Maclaine share her beliefs and experience.

Three weeks into the job the TV show Out on a Limb. Well is started my journey. That was my moment when I was shown my truth.

How does someone say thankyou for starting them on their spiritual journey and opening their life to all that there is. Thank You.

Thank you for being that person. For your strength, grace, tenacity, beauty, honesty.

Thank you for all of this; your site, connecting with like minds; learning from your guests and having a platform to share.

I am forever grateful. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Hello and thank you all for sharing your thoughts and good wishes!

It was a wonderful day. I walked a labyrinth, did my projections, watched the sunset and spent the rest of the day in deep discussions with Terry and my best friends. And on the 22nd we had a purifying snow that left everything feeling fresh and renewed.

I will cherish your words and thank you for all you have given me.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts - I'll get these printed out in pretty colors with pretty pictures and put them in a scrapbook for her

That said I will add a PS to my initial post. When I met Shirley I didn't have a clue as to who she was. This was pre-Out on a Limb and I had never seen any of her movies. Couldn't figure out why people thought it was so neat to for Lee and I to be taking her to Switzerland. Then when we did meet neither one of us was impressed with the other LOL

OMG, I am so late with this. I guess I am the straggler.

Thinking of this over morning coffee, I remember how my sons dubbed you "Auntie Shirley" years ago, because how you'd become so much a part of my family. And the name just stuck, hopefully it wasn't considered inappropriate...because I think of you that way.

My Auntie Shirley...a wise woman, a woman who brought so many beloved friends together and someone who "went out on a limb" for us all in countless ways (ways we may never know or understand).

My family here have shared so much on this thread and I appreciate them so much and their loving thoughts.

My happiest moment? Probably when we were in Santa Fe. Because of the heat and the drought, you reminded us to drink lots of water so we would not dehydrate in the NM heat. I drank and drank...and all that water had to go somewhere. That afternoon, while at your house... I released all that water in the bathroom...major release...sitting there in your bathroom...with a full length mirror....and all of a sudden I got a case of the giggles...sitting there "releasing like crazy". I swear I lost 5 lbs of water weight that afternoon.
Not sure now why it hit me so funny, except I was hearing you sing "If My Friends Could See Me Now"...

You gave me such a funny look when I finally opened the bathroom door, probably wondering why I was having my own little private party in your bathroom. Embarrassing then, but now one of my happiest memories.

And we ended the NM drought that weekend...

I love you, Auntie Shirley. And my sons do too...and one even had to admit that YES...you REALLY are who you are.

Sometimes, we are blessed in life to find REAL AUTHENTIC people..I think of you.

Always and forever your friend
Jade/Dee

Default Another Straggler

Thank you, Shirley, for your kindness. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your joy. Thank you for sharing your connection to the Godhead and inspiring us to better our own connections.

As an eight year old, growing up without knowing anything about being gay in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I thought that I was entirely alone in the world and that something was "wrong" with me, not just different. There were voices that pierced this darkness allowing me to very slowly take one step and then another on the road to acceptance and healing: seeing a photograph of Michelangelo's "David" for the first time in Holiday magazine; going to the local ballet company to see them perform; receiving art supplies from my alcoholic Great Aunt Geneva for my birthday each year; and, one of the strongest and most empowering beacons, your performance in "Sweet Charity."

I was able to realize, through the power that you brought to the role that one must remain, at all times, strong, resilient, resourceful, and, most importantly, open to happiness and joy whatever befalls one. Thank you for giving so much to this role as you do to all that you do and inspiring me, and all of us, to reach for the same.

Bless you, and best, very belated, birthday wishes.

Robbie Kendall

As a new family member here (less than 2 earth years of seniority), I've been slowly trolling through older threads and posts to get to know some of you better. And Rob...super cute photo! Little Robbie! And such sweet and kind posts on this thread. Just reinforces what I have already come to know--this is a loving, kind and compassionate community. I'm so happy my bliss lead me here.

Namaste,
Steph
