An educator at Mesa Community College, Larry Bricker teaches Environmental Biology, General Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Larry is a graduate of Arizona State University and holds a master's degree in zoology. His philosophy is that education is not just accessing information, but also limiting the information. The reason behind this unique philosophy is that Larry believes the teacher's job is to present information that is in context with what the student already knows. Then the student is able to access information and learns more for him- or herself.
Larry believes that enlightenment is not found in the answer, but instead it is found in the question. He also believes that an educator's responsibility is not to fill an empty mind, but rather to open it.
In the spring of 2000 Larry Bricker was the recipient of the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award.
